<description>My Mom and Dad grew up in the Thousand Islands – Alexandria Bay. When I was growing up we used to go up there in the summer, my Uncle has a cabin on the river. The fishing was awesome, tons of bass and pike. Then over the years it went downhill. From what I remember, the river got invaded by something called a zebra mussel which came in on the bottom of cargo ships from Europe or something. Well it was some sort of filter feed and it basically made the river crystal clear, ruining the fishing in the process – either they went deeper or died off.

I guess the upside is the dive business is booming in the 1000 islands now. I still need to get out there and check it out, sounds good!

		<description>Dave,
Many thanks to your IVS crew at Dutch Springs. My wife Dawne and I attended Saturday, and I got my feet wet for the first time in well over a decade (I did a refresher Tuesday with Ray at the Spring Valley Y, and I buddied at Dutch with your store employee John and young Chris for three dives, and knocked the rust off under their watchful eyes.) The food was great; the people were better, and if my wife gets a DSD and it goes well, you'll be seeing a lot of both of us; and if not, you'll still be seeing me quite a bit of me, I suspect. Hat's off and thanks again to the IVS people.
